World Green Mission (WGM) is a transformative worldwide initiative conceptualized by Ms. Aisshwarya Waankhaday, the Vice President of Silver Edge Utopian (SEU). With an ambitious goal to make our surroundings as green as possible, WGM focuses on promoting, planting, donating, and adopting medicinal plants on a large scale globally. This mission is technically supported by the Regional Center of National Medicinal Plants Board, Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India, and the Department of Botany at Savitribai Phule Pune University. Additionally, WGM receives support from various organizations, including Snehalay India, Movement of Positivity, Pudhche Paul, Ekal Abhiyan, Friends of Tribal Society, and Namaste India.

Objectives of World Green Mission

The primary objective of World Green Mission is to plant trees around the world, aiming for a measurable impact in restoring global biodiversity. This initiative is designed to maintain ecosystem integrity, enhance high conservation values, and leverage a strong volunteer presence. In light of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, WGM emphasizes the importance of oxygen and aims to plant more oxygen-giving plants for a healthier and sustainable future.

Philosophy of World Green Mission

World Green Mission (WGM) is rooted in the philosophy of making our surroundings as green as possible through the concerted efforts of planting, donating, and adopting more plants.

Vision and Mission of World Green Mission

WGM envisions a world in which individuals take care of the planet, assume responsibility for their actions, and make decisions based on what is best for the environment and society as a whole.

The initiative strives to create a society where environmental protection is so deeply ingrained in basic values that discussing it becomes unnecessary.

Basic Values and Principles

WGM is guided by the basic values of environmental stewardship, responsibility, and holistic decision-making.

The mission emphasizes the importance of fostering a global community that actively participates in the preservation of the planet for present and future generations.

Pilot Project of WGM

The pilot project of World Green Mission was successfully executed by Team SEU, involving the planting of 100+ different varieties of medicinal plants at the Aundh Military Station in Pune. Driven by the vision of Ms. Aisshwarya Waankhaday and with the support of Dr. (Maj) Anu Srinivasan, the project received dedicated efforts from Major Mayank and Narendra Bhaiya.

The launch of this mission at Aundh Military Station, Pune coincided with ‘World Environment Day’ on June 5th, 2023. Following the launch, WGM initiated the ‘World Green Mission Week’ from June 7th to 14th, 2023, extending its impact nationwide.

Under World Green Mission, the SEU team has made significant contributions by donating 60,000+ medicinal plants to various institutions, including orphanages, schools, colleges, NGOs, and military campuses. The initiative recognizes the importance of engaging individuals globally in its mission and has appointed Special Green Ambassadors who actively promote and participate in World Green Mission.
